examination preparation
Examinations
Special preparation courses are offered for the following examinations in English:
Cambridge Preliminary English Test, Cambridge First Certificate, Cambridge Advanced English, Cambridge Proficiency in English, IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC. These courses are available in Great Britain and Ireland only.

Aim and Content
The course focuses clearly on the examination in question. The aim is to raise the student’s linguistic standard significantly by doing solid examination-orientated practice in the four skills areas, and to extend and improve their oral/aural skills informally after class. Special examination preparation materials are provided, covering all aspects of the examination, and students may request to emphasize certain skills areas according to individual need. The examination preparation materials may be kept by the student.

Hours and Duration
Students may choose 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours’ individual class per week. The minimum course length is 1 week, though courses of 2 or 3 weeks are normally recommended for this course, depending on individual circumstances. This course usually represents an additional and supportive (or preliminary) element to students’ longer-term preparation for the examination in their home country.

Dates
Courses are available at any time of year, including Christmas and New Year, and normally run from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Other start days may be possible, subject to availability. Note: a week is a full 7 days and if students arrive on a Saturday they may leave on a Saturday.
