Languages
and Countries
Increasingly over the past fifteen
years ILH has been winning large contracts to train government
and company personnel. Such courses are mainly, though not exclusively,
to give training in English, and take place principally in the
UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada and Malta.
Students
Students may include trainees, employees,
managers, government officials and armed forces officers of varying
age and seniority,
including the most senior echelons. |

Aim and Content
The main objective is to make rapid
progress in the language, with special emphasis on improving oral
ability. Although this is always for work purposes, the courses do
not normally involve specialized terminology or (in the case of English)
English for special purposes (i.e. not
our Executive Plus programme). The Executive Plus programme
could be provided on such contracts, but the standard programme
is generally found to be sufficient and offers a very cost effective option.
The formal lessons contain a mix of oral work, orally practised grammar, reading & discussion,
vocabulary extension, listening comprehension, pronunciation and role play.
Hours, Duration and Dates
Students may choose 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours’ individual
class per week. The minimum course duration is 1 week. The lessons normally run
from Monday to Friday. Note: a 1 hour lesson is a full 60 minutes. Courses are
available at any time of year.
